Fandom Specific:

I tend to fixate on particular characters rather than ships so each of these fandoms will mainly focus on my favorite character with some delineation about specific likes in their various possible ships.

If writing military stuff please try to be at least somewhat accurate to actual military protocol (ex. The Daggers would not be given several months of leave after the mission.They would definitely be grounded and given fitness for duty evaluations but it's their job so no 3 months leave as a reward)

Top Gun:

Jake Seresin: I like stories where Jake had a bad childhood - either bad parents (ex. homophobic or abusive) or being raised in foster care; the reason he's so bitchy and conceited is because it's a front for how deeply insecure and afraid he is all the time. I also head canon Jake as having lost his first wingman (as hinted at in the canon) and having developed PTSD from the experience. I also head canon Jake and Bradley as ex's (Jake got Javy in the "divorce" and Bradley got Phoenix) - this can lead to them getting back together or could have been so toxic it's not possible for them to reconcile. Jake and Javy bestie-ism for life.

Prompts:
1) Jake, Ice, and Mav are in a secret relationship. Jake flies the mission and is the only one shot down. By the time they find him he's in bad shape.
2) Jake doesn't know how to be taken care of. He gets really sick and is forced to let others take care of him.
3) Jake works himself to the point of collapse after the mission, not knowing how else to prove himself worthy of people sticking around.
4) Jake breaks down after the mission. He has PTSD from his first air-to-air kill and this mission brings it back up. Mav or Mav/Ice are there to pick up the pieces
5) Jake's in love and he thinks it's unrequited. It comes to light when he collapses, coughing up flowers and blood.

Star Trek (Alternate Original Series)

Leonard "Bones" McCoy: This is a second career for Bones. He is already an established doctor and very grumpy about having to go through the Academy training to prove himself. Jim helped him overcome his agoraphobia during the academy by forcing him to go through training sims until he stopped puking. This Bones also lost his father at a young age and never forgave himself for not being able to save him.

Prompts:
1) This Bones gets Xenopolycythemia and Spock and Jim have to race to find a way to save him
2) Bones pines after Jim/Spock so much he develops hanahaki. They've been trying to court him the whole time.
3) Bones gets injured on an away mission and has to help the others help him.
4) Bones is captured and tortured by enemies. Jim and Spock struggle to save him from the illness that results.

9-1-1

Evan "Buck" Buckley: I headcanon Buck as having ADHD with a strong amount of RSD. He has intimacy issues and trust issues. He is also impulsive and can be reckless with both his own physical well-being and the mental/emotional well-being of the people he loves because he doesn't always think things through. I am a big believer in no forgiveness for the Buckley parents after how they treat both their children.

Prompts:
1) Buck has panic attacks after everything that's happened to him. Bobby talks him through them.
2) Buck has chronic pain from his crush injury. He hides it because he thinks no one will care. Bobby breaks down about it.
3) Buck attempts suicide. Bobby finds him. They have to deal with the consequences.
4) Buck has platonic hanahaki after the lawsuit. He's terrified it's another embolism but hides it out of fear of being benched again.
5) Buck doesn't know what it's like to be taken care of by a parent when he's sick. Bobby and Athena show him.
6) Bobby gets sick and Buck panics. He hovers and Bobby finally realizes how important he is to Buck.

Jurassic Park

Alan Grant: Alan is a grumpy stick in the mud who'd rather play in dirt than deal with people. He's got a soft spot for kids even if he doesn't realize it. He also has hella PTSD from Jurassic Park.

Prompts:
1) Alan is much more injured than he let on (after either movie) and collapses after they've been rescued. His lover[s] rush to save him.
2) Alan develops hanahaki for the Billy, thinking the man will never forgive him for what he said on the island. Billy finds him collapsed at a dig.
3) Billy has nightmares after the island. Alan hold him through them
4) Alan gets really sappy while he's sick and confesses his love. He doesn't remember it after.

Teen Wolf

Stiles Stilinski: Stiles has gone through a ridiculous amount of trauma in the series. His mom, the nogitsune, the wild hunt, everyone he knows almost killing him at some point... Exploring that trauma and how it impacts him is a love of mine. I headcanon him as magic somehow. He's also much more morally grey in my mind than a lot of the other main characters. (The Sheriff's name is John.)

Prompts:
1) Stiles is NOT doing well after the Nogitsune. It left more then just psychological scars. He collapeses and that's what it takes for people to realize there's something really wrong.
2) Stiles has hanahaki for both Chris and Peter and almost dies because of it. They have hot, kinky sex about it once he's better.
3) The Sheriff almost dies. Stiles breaks down about it.
4) Stiles overuses his magic and collapses.
5) Stiles ends up in the past, broken and bloodied and ready to give up his life to save everyone. He gets taken care of instead and doesn't know how to deal.

Mission: Impossible

William Brandt: I headcanon that Brandt has PTSD after everything that happened with Julia, even though he now knows she's alive. In my mind he's still an integral part of the team but he left the field because he couldn't bring himself to leave being an analyst behind. He'd rather know everything that's needed to help and give that information to his team than be in the field and in the dark.

Prompts:
1) Will is captured and tortured on a mission. The team finds him and takes care of him during his recovery.
2) Will is late for a team meet up. They get worried and check on him. He is exceedingly ill, hallucinating and running a fever. His nightmares make them all cry.
3) Will's hanahaki is the only reason he knows Alan is alive. No one believes him.

Prodigal Son

Malcom Bright: Bright has SO MANY issues because of his dad. Most of them are canon but I also headcanon that Bright has attempted suicide in the past and only Gil knows about it. I also enjoy team as family moments as they realize just how much Bright and Gil mean to each other.

Prompts:
1) Malcolm is sick, like deathly so, but he tries to work anyway.
2) Bright has hanahaki for Gil. It almost kills him when he's trapped somewhere on a case.

Marvel

Clint Barton/Hawkeye: I follow a lot of the OG comic storylines for Clint (ex. drunk dad followed by orphanage followed by circus). I also headcanon him as deaf before the events of the Hawkeye series. He thinks he's dumb but he's actually really smart, just not a polished as others are. He has hella anxiety and imposter syndrome on a team of gods and superhumans.

Prompts:
1) Clint is hallucinating while sick, thinking he's seeing Phil even though he's dead. He doesn't know what to do when it's not a hallucination.
2) Clint has a concussion and is delirious. He keeps trying to run away.
3) The Avengers panic when they realize just how breakable Clint is on a mission.
